Rumors that Google has intentions to move into the realm of home computing would come as no surprise evidenced by their current expansions. To call Google a Monopoly, could certainly be thought of as a bit of an overstatement, but when Microsoft had their stroll down Park Place with the government they did not have the appearance of a company too far ahead of Google. Sure Google has not made any obvious attempts to dissolve its competition, but it is rather clear that Google has intentions to offer services in an incredibly wide variety of aspects that seem to coincide with their opponents greatly. More evidently Google Video stands as a step towards internet dominance hoping to knock You Tube from the top spot. Google is appearing more Microsoft-like by the minute, offering almost identical expansions. What seems to set Google aside though is their neutral movement. Although they are offering such a wide variety of services, their intentions do not seem to be one of dominance, but perhaps instead competition, and as most might be aware, competition is good for the economy. So perhaps Google’s motivations are not monopolistic at all, but merely an action for positive economics; not to mention their products are well-made and useful. Is Google playing games that we should fear? Or are they simply playing the game of competition, offering strong services in the process? ~Bob This message not paid for by Google. |
