It seems that once you find yourself in a place that seems logical, you desires pull you out of it. The truth is, no one can define your morals, you must do it for yourself, and as nice as it is to have a permanent set of guidelines, unless you're keen on lying to yourself, you're not going to be satisfied. They best way to do it is to allow for an amorphous system. Only you can guide yourself into "right" and "wrong", only you can determine how one should act. Your opinions will change as time continues, and the best way to feel right about it is to go with your gut. Decarte once said that all we can know for sure is that "I exist". Thus anything beyond that such as morals are constructs. Do not let anyone tell you what is right or wrong, create constructs for yourself, but do not let them rule you. It is you who exists, not your morals. ~Bob |
