DONE!

06/02/06 After over a year since the beginning Whoop Ass is completed! Needless to say it is quite a load off my back, as WA has become a bit of a thorn. own set of eyes.
How do I feel about the completed movie? I'm happy with it, but I feel there are several issues that could have been a bit stronger in the film. I feel that a lot of this movie could have been better had some things gone our way, but they didn't and this was quite a learning experience, even at my expert state... We came into this movie with a strong script a great cast and high hopes for a fine film, and we came out with something a little less than what we had hoped for. Not to say WA is bad, it certainly has some great moments, in fact Whoop Ass is a good film, perhaps a great film, but it's just not the quality that we were hoping for. Had this film come out in a month, I'd probably be more positive towards it, but considering it took so long, which I apologize for, the movie just doesn't equal up to the wait.
But, again, Whoop Ass is a good film, there is a part in there for everyone, and it's sure to make you laugh. I'd like to thank everyone who was involved with the making of this movie. Jordan for his hard work, Ben, Hannick and Mike for their great acting, Erik for his fine soundtrack work and everyone else that helped out with the film, especially those dancers. All in all, I'm glad to be done with this film, hope you enjoy it.

I am quite aware of Whoop Ass's intended release dates, and am very aware that we have overshot those dates continuously. I know there has been much anticipation for the film since its announcement following Pure Evil 2's release. There have been many complications that have held back the film's progress which include poor judgement, work overloads and laziness. In general, I am as frustrated (likely more) as everyone else is with the delay of Whoop Ass's release. However, despite all the past issues, it pleases me to say the Whoop Ass is reaching the final, final stages of development and should be released within the next two weeks. Since my return home I have been working with my crew like a madman trying to get this bitch done, and we are quite close. We have finished scoring the movie and the special effects. Left is audio leveling, credits and final adjustments. These parts should not be too difficult and time consuming, but knowing the history of Whoop Ass's release I am going to give us two weeks. I am confident that we can get it done within that time. What we have in our possession is a pretty good movie. It isn't exactly the movie I had initially envisioned, but the key here is that it's getting done. It is a fine film, a humorous film and a worthwhile film. I will stand behind it like I stand behind Pure Evil 2 as a great film. That being said, I will alert the media when Whoop Ass is finished and post it online. There might be a small release party, but nothing too large, our goal is to get this thing finished.

Okay, so winter break is over and still no movie. But here's what we've done: we've finished editing, 98% of the audio issues, and Erik has begun composing the music, so basically we're just waiting on him now. And once he's done Jordan will get that music and put it in the movie and presto.
12/30/05
Oh hi, remember this movie? Jordan and I have been working hard this break on finishing up the editing of this film and we're happy to say that we have ONE more scene to finalize in editing before we start working with Erik Juhl on the sdk. Whoop Ass will be done this break, or I will kill everything :)
11/04/05
Okay so here's the scoop. I've received half of the film and passed it over to Erik Juhl, our composer, to start working. Jordan is hard at work on getting the other half ready, after some rending issues. We're shooting for a Thanksgiving release, and being as now the pressure is on, we hope to make it. That's all I got, I'll keep posting as I get more.

As you are no doubt aware Halloween is tomorrow, and that was the expected release date for the movie. Unfortunately the way things went, the release date has been delayed until further notice. The movie will still be coming out in good time just not as we said earlier. The truth is there has been some slacking on an end. I'm not going to name names, okay just one Donald Duck. But seriously it's all about the movie not blame. Our group believes in it and it will come out this year. I'll keep everyone updated on when we get closer to releasing it, but until then just stay with us. I promise this movie will be great.
09/14/05:
Holy mother of pearl! Praise Gzesh Productions on this amazing new THEATRICAL TRAILER. That's right folks. We have a brand new trailer for Whoop Ass. And it is unbelievable. Hell yes, if this is any indication of how this bad boy is going to turn out, then I think we can pocket a couple Oscars right now. Damn, so GOOD!
So turn up the volume, turn off the lights and watch this ridicules new TRAILER. It will blow you away.
In other news. The J-man is still working on editing the film, and getting a copy out to Erik for composing. And speaking of amazing. Erik has sent me the Opening Title track for the film and it is SOOO B'DASS, orgasmic even. I can't post it, but take my word for it, Gzesh editing, and Juhl soundtrack is a winning combo.
Peace the fuck out, Eman
08/31/05:
Can you say progress? It's been a bit since I updated here, but since then we've gotten a lot done. We finished getting all our pickups, and finished all the audio dubs. Jordan took the film to school where he will be editing it. We've also got Erik Juhl working on the soundtrack, so we've got this tri-factor of IMing and sending files, but we're looking at having a copy by thanksgiving. Which means we'll make the joke date that I had set in the preview which is Halloween. But the progress of the movie is continuing and I'll let you guys know how it's going.
~Peace out brothers Eman
08/12/05:
Whoop Ass is alive and well. Jordan and I have completed the first draft of the film, and although there is a lot of work left, it's looking good. We also met with Erik Juhl who'll be doing the soundtrack. He's looking forward to doing it as much as we are to having him. Right now we're working on the final Dubs and Pick up Shots, which we will finish later today. Then it's all up to Jordan and Erik to make that movie work, as I will be far away at school land.
08/05/05:
Hey kids. Jordan and I are currently working on putting together a skeleton of the movie so we can know what we're missing and what we need to dub etc. And it's looking like we'll have a couple more easy things to shoot and a good amount to dub.
Jordan and I have decided that we're not going to get it done before school starts again, so we're hoping to get everything ready for him so he can take it to his school and finish it off there. Pray that we don't run out of time.
07/25/05:
I stayed up to 3am last night finishing off the capturing of the movie, and thankfully now that part is done after many hours of Jordan and myself picking from the footage. Next step is to get any missed shots, which I think is just one 3 second one, and any extra footage needed. But for the most part I think we're ready to start editing. Jordan Gzesh is the man for that. He has a lot of plans for the editing of this movie. I'll be supervising too though, making sure things work out how I like, although I have faith in Jordan's expertise.
Here's one more final album before the movie comes out: album 6

That's it, that's it! Call the Highland Park and Deerfield Police, we've finished filming the freakin' movie!!!! Well there are still a couple minor things we need to film but nothing that'll take more than 10 minutes. I'm very happy that shooting is finished, now all that is left to do basically is the editing, which will probably take about 3-4 weeks. But the hard part is finished.
I'd like to thank everyone that has participated in the filming of this movie, I know it's been tough at times, and I've probably seemed like a crazy jerk, but it'll all be amazing in the end and I hope to see everyone at the premiere.
07/01/05:
I'm not happy about it, but we didn't get to shoot the final shot yet. This will happen in roughly a week, if all goes well. In the meantime Jordan an I will be capturing and editing.
06/23/05:
Oh man, we are so friggen close to finishing filming that I can smell it. I can't wait to be done, maybe I'll stop having zombie nightmares. We filmed last night as well as a night 3 days ago.
On the shoot 3 days ago, we got some stuff with Ben and I that we didn't get the time before. We also got some pick ups with Jordan as a zombie finishing up his acting for the film. Jordan you were a great zombie. We did have another run in with the police bringing our grand total to 5 police encounters.
Last night we got a couple pick up shots done. Ben showed up a bit late, and Hannick needed to go to sleep, and I just wanted to get everything done, so there was some tension shooting, but we got everything done finishing off all of Hannick's acting for the film. Thanks Hannick for your help.
So what does that leave us with? Only the biggest shot in the entire movie. We're talking to a gas station tomorrow about shooting on location early in the morning, hopefully they'll cooperate, because we need this shot. But this hump is the last one before editing, as filming will be done after Saturday night is through.
Peace out, EL.

Update for 06/11/05-
Hello folks. Big scene finished on Whoop Ass on Saturday. Without giving away too many specifics, this shot required a good amount of zombies. I had originally just planned for this scene to have only one zombie but Jordan insisted on more, and man was he right. I figured that we would only do 5 extra zombies, but Jordan had bigger plans, he got about 17 extras for this shot. It really paid off too! This scene worked out amazingly!
We shot a parking lot, which was well lit before 12am when we were going to begin shooting. As soon as the zombies began arriving the lights went off, so we ended up positioning everyone's car lights. Well more and more people showed up and we got em' all into zombie makeup. The entire time we shot I was giggling my ass off because it was crazy to see so many zombies and direct a group of willing extras. Which brings me to my next point of how awesome everyone did. There are too many people to list right now but thanks to everyone for filming the other night, we really appreciate it.
We did have another short run in with the cops. That makes three now. But after explaining what we were doing they left pretty quickly. All we have left now to shoot is really only two days, so we are close to being done! :)

06/08/05:
Sorry I took so long to get this update up, it's actually for the 4th. Again we got a lot done here, shooting Scene 5 at a closed gas station. We got a lot of great shots again and everything really worked out. Thanks to Russell for being our light guy, Adam for being our photo guy and everyone else for showing up and filming on this day, I know it's tough sometimes.
Again while we were shooting we had a run in with the police. Two cars came on a complaint that we were breaking into the gas station, which wasn't true. They had a lot of trouble understanding what we were doing, either that or they were testing us to see if we were drunk or high or something. This one cop kept asking "What are you filming for?" and he couldn't accept that it was for fun, so Adam just said we were doing for his college. But the cop still didn't get it "Southern Illinois, what are you doing here then?" to which Adam replied "It's the summer, we live here." I thought that was very funny. Finally the cop got off our case and check Russell and my IDs because we lived in HP. Then they left leaving us to shoot the rest of it. Thankfully they let us keep shooting.
So, what's let to shoot? We're filming Scene 6 on Saturday leaving only Scene 8 and various little things. Looks like we're going to get this movie done like planned! Go organization!

06/02/05:
Wah wah we wah! What a huge day! We shot practically all of the hilarious in car shots for the film! So that means we only have the three large scenes left to shoot. We started shooting at 11 and ended somewhere around 2. It was a lot of work but at least we're done with it. If you're wondering why my hair seems bleached again, it isn't, I found this great temp spray that works rather well, and should suffice. Also in this shoot we used my new wide-screen lens, which worked out great.
While shooting today we had a run in with the police, they asked us what we were doing and upon seeing someone in zombie make-up, understood what we were up to. We used some interesting filming techniques here with lighting as we have opted to shoot at night. Although there have been doubts because of the lighting, I think it will all turn out great.

05/25/05:
Today we shot some in car scenes. Jordan directed today and came up with some excellent lines and ways of shooting. We figured out a stellar way to do in car shots. Although these shots were easy, I managed to do a horrible job with this one line that kept making me laugh. It took us about 15 minutes more because of me, sorry guys it won't happen again.
Although the film is well off overall, we still have a lot left to finish this summer; here's a list of our shots left:
Scene 5: closed gas station Scene 6: A Zombie Attacks! 1. Car shots 2. Outside car 3. Secret special part!!! (5 extra zombies needed) Scene 7: car shots with Yoder, TJ and Steve 1. Car shots 2. Outside car Scene 8: Final Gas Station (5 extra zombie needed)
Our next step will be to more likely shoot Scene 7 and # 1 in Scene 6. Either that or Scene 5. Whatever it is it won't be until next week. We're getting this movie finished this summer even if it kills us!
